Es häufen sich immer wieder diesselben Fragen die ich an dieser Stelle beantworten will

Wie spiele ich Spiele mit einem Emulator

1. Erstens : Einen passenden Emulator downloaden. Wer unter einem Win 9X System arbeitet sollte Caprice nehmen, bei älteren Rechnern den CPE. Besitzer von Windows NT/2000 müssen einen Windows Emulator benutzen, da die DOS Emulatoren dort nicht laufen.
2. Zweiten Spiele Images herunterladen. Die finden sich in der Sektion Games. Entkomprimiert wird eine ca 194 K große Disk Datei draus. Das ist ein Image einer 3" CPC Diskette.
3. Diese Datei kopiert man in ein Unterverzeichnis namens Disk oder Disc je nach Emulator. Im Emulator kann man dann mit einer funktionstaste oder einem Menüpunkt diese Diskette in das "virtuelle 3" Laufwerk" einschieben. Welche Taste das ist bitte in der Doku zum Emulator durchlesen.

In der CPC Emulation greift man über folgende Befehle auf die Disk zu :

|A oder |B (SHIFT-Ü) Wechsel des Disklaufwerkes.

CAT : Inhaltsverzeichnis abrufen

RUN"name.bas" oder Run"Name.bin" Programm Name starten.

In Rot geschrieben sind Befehlswörte die sie eintippen müssen. (Siehe Screen Shoot).

Ausführbare Dateien haben die Endung .bin" .bas" oder gar keine. Wenn man nicht weiß welche die richtige ist dann einfach mal ohne Erweiterung starten (wie hier).

Der CPC Emu hat eine recht gute Doku die man auch bei anderen Emulatoren zu rate zeiehen kann. Man sollte sich diese mal ansehen.

Wo finde ich Spiel xxx ?

Ich bin kein Suchdienst für spiele und kenne auch nicht alle 3500 Speiele die es hier gibt. Am Besten den Fullindex herunterladen und mit der Suchen Funktion nach dem Spielnamen durchsuchen.

Was ist der beste Emulator ?

Meiner Meinung nach Caprice. Er ist auch der einzige der noch weiter entwickelt wird. Man braucht jedoch einen schnellen P3 Rechner und ein Win 9X System für ihn

Ich finde mein Lieblingsspiel für den C64 hier nicht ....

Weil der CPC 464/664 und 6128 überhaupt nichts mit dem C64 zu tun hat, ist das auch kein Wunder. Die beiden Computer sind genauso verschieden wie ein Mac und ein IBM PC !

Ich bekomme einen Fehler wenn ich ein Spiel herunterladen will !

Ich bin leider nicht im Beistz einer riesen Website und einer DSL Flatrate. So kam ich auf die Idee alle Games auf den allgemein verfügbaren FTP Servern zu verlinken. Dadurch ist der Zugriff einfacher, da man ein Spiel herunterladen kann ohne einen FTP Zugriff machen zu müssen. Doch die FTP Server haben nur begrnzte User Accounts. Wenn ein Download scheitert einfach später neu versuchen.

How do i play a CPC game with an emulator ?

There are Three Steps you've got to made :

1. First : Choose an Emulator for your System and download it. If you use Windows 2000 or NT the DOS Emulators which use direct acess to the hardware won't work
2. Second download the Images form the Game Section. Whern you uncompress these you will find one or more Files with the Extension .dsk and a size of 192 KByte. These are Images of and 3" CPC Floppy.
3. Third : Every Emulator creates an Sub-dir namend "disk" or "Disc". In these subdir the Disk Images are stored. Copy the .dsk File in this Dir. To load the File in the "virtual Disk" please refer to the Dokumentation of the emulator, every emulator has another function key for that.

In the emulated CPC (The Maschine which starts with an blue screen and the "Ready Prompt"...) you can acess with these commands on the disk :

|A or |B (SHIFT-Ü) Change the disc drive.

CAT : Get the Catalog (similar to dir in DOS)

RUN"name.bas" or Run"Name.bin" start a programm.

In Red are the commands you must type in. For further informations please have a look in the documentation of cpc-emu.

Executeable files have most the extension "." or ".bin" or ".bas". If you don't know which type in the programmname without extension.

How do i find game xxx

Well even i don't know all games of the CPC. I've played pherhaps with 200 or 300 Games, but there are more than 3000 Games to download. If you download the Fullindex and search in your Broswer after the desired game you probably will find it.

What is the best emulator ?

After my opinion is it Caprice, it is the only emulator too which development still goes on. But you need a fast computer for it and it don't run under a secure Windows system like Windoe NT or Windows 2000.

I don't find my games for the C64 on this Site !

Well you are completly wrong ! The C64 and the C464/664/6128 are two different computers like the Mac and a IBM PC.

I get an error when downloading a game !

Im only a private person with limited webspace. So i got the idee to link all games on the common available ftp servers. It is for an user easier since he can download ist with clicking in the browser, rather tah use the FTP protokol. But these servers are not always acessable and have limited user accounts. if a download fails please try again at a later time.
